Pitkin County Emergency Management
The purpose of the emergency manager is to support the Pitkin County Sheriff's responsibility as the county's designated emergency response agency in coordination with the Public Safety Council, whose mission is to promote public safety and emergency response in our communities. In pursuit of this mission, the sheriff, emergency manager and members of the Public Safety Council value teamwork, cooperation, mutual respect, common trust, open communication, and equal representation. Pitkin County Incident Management Team
The Pitkin County Incident Management Team (PCIMT), under the direction of the Pitkin County Sheriff, was established to organize and support the local Incident Commander in the management of any local jurisdiction’s most serious, complex and costly incidents. Incidents are managed in a safe and cost-effective manner with incident objectives, resource values, as well as social, environmental issues as a priority. Our focus is to manage your incident so you can attend to your staff, your citizens and your family.
